not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose personal data to others in ways
different from what is disclosed in this statement.
Visitors to
conseco.com are not required to register to browse the site and we do
not collect personal data from them unless or until they register or
ask to have a representative contact them. Of course, if you register
with our site, we will collect personal data so that we can personalize

In order to
tailor our Web site to an individual's preference, we combine
information about the purchasing habits of registered users with
similar information from our partners to create a personalized user
profile. See the "Registration" section below.
Registration To
allow us to provide a more personalized experience on conseco.com,

date and time of visits, pages viewed, time spent at the site, and the
site visited just before and after the Conseco site. In addition, a
cookie may also be used to make your visit to our site more convenient.
By setting a cookie on our site, the user would not have to log in a

user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site, but the user will
be limited in some areas of our site.
Third party advertising

do not link any online actions or cookies to an identifiable person.

SHARING Conseco
works closely with certain third parties who perform services on our
behalf, including but not limited to filling orders, providing
promotional materials to our users, sending e-mail, managing data,
processing credit card payments or providing customer service. Such
third parties have access to your personal data only to the extent
necessary to perform their functions and may not use or disclose it for
any other purpose. In some of these instances we try to provide a
seamless experience to our users. To that end we occasionally use
framing, masking and co-branding. Though the url in the browser window
says for instance 'conseco.com' you may be on a partner's site. You can
always check properties by right clicking on a particular area of a
site to see whose site you are on. Please refer to the partner's
privacy policy when submitting your information to them in these
instances.
We share personal data with third parties and
affiliate companies so they can inform you about the products and
services which you have indicated an interest. The Conseco family is
made up of financial services providers, including insurance, finance,
investment and securities companies. You may 'opt-out' of having your
personal data shared with these third parties by completing our online opt-out form (accessible from this page once a visitor has registered).
We
may also share personal data with intermediaries to provide the
products or services which you have indicated an interest. However,
they may not use your personal data for secondary purposes.
In
the event that we are involved in a sale of a substantial portion of
our business assets, user personal data will, in most instances, be
among the transferred assets. A notice will be placed on our site to
inform users of a change of ownership or control of their personal
information. If as a result of the business transition, your personally
identifiable information will be used in a manner different from that
stated at the time of collection you will be given choices consistent
with our notification of changes section. Personal data may also be
disclosed in order to comply with judicial or other government
subpoenas, warrants, or orders.
LINKS This
Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that Conseco is
not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. This
privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web
site. Please be aware that when you request an Automobile or Home

directly by Amica. This information is not shared with Conseco. Please
review Amica's privacy statement for their privacy practices.
Communication from the Site, Special Offers and Updates We
send all new registered users a welcoming email to verify password and
username. Registered users will occasionally receive information on
products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for
the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these
types of communications. Please see our "Choice/Opt-Out" section below.
On
rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service related
announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for
maintenance we might send you an email. Generally, users may not
opt-out of these communications, though you can deactivate your account.
NEWSLETTER AND SITE UPDATES If
a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter or receive special offers,
we ask for contact information such as name and email address. Out of
respect for user privacy we present the opportunity to opt-out of such
communications. Please see our "Choice/Opt-Out" section below.
CONTESTS From
time-to-time our site requests information from users via contests.
Participation in these contests is completely voluntary and the user
therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information.
Information requested typically includes contact information (such as
name and physical address), and demographic information (such as zip
code, age range). Contact information will be used to notify the
winners and award prizes.
Calculators The site
contains various calculators designed to assist visitors in assessing
their needs for certain financial services. These calculators do no
collect, nor are they tied to personally identifiable information.
SECURITY For
your protection, any and all on-line personal data must pass through
our secure servers. The security protocols utilized are called Secure
Socket Layer (SSL), IPSEC (Secure IP) and TripleDES. SSL protects all
data transmissions between your PC and our computer. SSL utilizes
authentication and encryption technology developed by RSA Data
Security, Inc. This method of cryptography means that unauthorized
individuals cannot readily decipher your personal data. Our secure
server uses 128-bit encryption (the highest level of encryption
currently available) and is verified by Verisign, Inc., a leading
provider of secure online certificates. Your personal data continues to
be secured upon transmission to the appropriate destination within
Conseco using either IPSEC or TripleDES security, providing an
equivalent or better level of encryption security for your information.
Finally, the servers that we store personal data on are kept in secure
environments with state of the art security systems in place.
If you have any questions about the security at our Web site, you can send an email to privacy@conseco.com.

registration page or by sending an email message to

changes have been made.

also "opt out" of having certain personal data shared with third
parties or members of the Conseco family of companies, by completing
our on-line opt out form (accessible from this page once a visitor has registered).
NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES If
we change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our site so
users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it,
and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point
we decide to use personal data in a manner different from that stated
at the time it was collected, we will notify users by email and users
will have a choice about whether to allow personal data to be used in
this different manner. However, if you have opted out of all
communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated your account, then
you will not be contacted, nor will your personal information be used
in this new manner.
